For a SART exam, students would have three options:
- Make a report to the police in the locality where the assault occurred – Pacific Grove if it happened there for example. Law enforcement would then request the forensic exam.
- Go to the Emergency Department at CHOMP and request a sexual assault forensic exam. This could also be done at Natividad Hospital in Salinas. Those are the two county sites.
- Contact Monterey County Rape Crisis Center for more information and to help arrange the exam. They have a 24/7 hotline (831) 375-4357. Website is http://www.mtryrapecrisis.org/
Title IX - this get complicated and depends on relative academic positions of all people involved. No committment to proceed if the Title IX people are contacted. You can call for information and to discuss "hypothetical" situations. You remain in control.
